Thank you for your observations and encouragement. Needless to say both Brothers Grimm and Hans Christian Anderson have been a great inspiration to Ronald Rae in his graphic work and he shares your admiration for Carole Ann Duffy too!

No cosiness of fairy tale here. Being both modern yet medieval they are timeless. These illustrations would be worthy of Grimm or Hans Anderson. They are challenging and might need a Carole Ann Duffy to do them justice in the story telling !

So glad you enjoyed them and thank you for letting us know. That is exactly what the artist wanted - for viewers to use imagination to create a fairytale for each illustration, therefore completing each work. How about you writing one?
