Rae at Cramond
Rae has now completed the Heavy Horse and Foal.,
which is also featured in the slideshow on the home page.
He has just started carving an 11 tonne Elephant.
This will be his seventh elephant sculpture. The stone
is of great geological interest being a blend of
dark grey and pink granite.
Rae says that this will definitely be his last granite sculpture.

Sculptures Move to Public Sites
The emotive Fallen Christ sculpture has found an appropriate home on Iona, the island of pilgrimage off the west coast of Scotland to be installed in November 2007.
Two sculptures that address the tragedy of war – War Veteran and Animals in War Memorial will be on long term exhibition at the War Museum at Bletchley Park near Milton Keynes from November 2007.
Hiroshima Departed moves to Nipponzan Myohoji Temple and Peace Pagoda, Willen Lakeside, Milton Keynes in November 2007.

Rae at the Scottish Parliament
A further motion was submitted to the Scottish Parliament in October 2007 re. the public
campaign to have the Lion of Scotland sculpture sited outside the Parliament building,
by Christine Grahame MSP. This campaign has Cross Party support and it is hoped that soon a decision will be made.
The following motion was submitted by Margaret Smith MSP to the Scottish Parliament.

That the Parliament recognises the excellent
work of Edinburgh based sculptor Ronald Rae of Cramond, highlighted in the ongoing exhibition
of his work in Holyrood Park supported by the Scottish Executive New Arts Sponsorship Awards
and Historic Scotland; further notes that the sculpture The Lion of Scotland has proved particularly
popular with the public and bearing in mind that the lion is our historic national symbol calls upon
the Scottish Parliament Corporate Body to investigate the possibility of the sculpture being re-sited
permanently outside the Scottish Parliament building. Anyone wanting to join in the campaign to

Rae at Holyrood
The Ronald Rae Exhibition of twenty granite sculptures - 15 animals and 5 figurative works -
at various sites around the Palace of Holyrood House and in Holyrood Park - has now been
running for six months. It is proving to be a great success - visitors to the Park are
bonding with the sculptures and cameras are clicking around them every day.
Guided tours taken by the sculptor are being enjoyed by school children and adults
alike. Due to its popularity the exhibition has now been extended until the beginning of March 2008
by which time it is estimated that over one million people will have seen the sculptures.
On exhibition for the first time is Ronald Rae's largest sculpture the twenty tonne Lion of Scotland.
