This life-size sculpture of a land mine victim depicts a vulnerable old man with a severed leg. It is carved with great compassion and pathos and draws attention to the futility of war. Also a study of old age the sculpture was based on Rae’s grandfather who fought in the First World War.
The sculpture featured in the Landmine Exhibition at Leeds Armouries which was dedicated to the work of Princess Diana.
