Baby Elephant in a Snowstorm

Baby Elephant – granite sculpture in progress. Location – Cramond Kirk grounds, Edinburgh – December 2010.

Due to adverse weather conditions over the past few weeks the progress of the Baby Elephant has been curbed – hence one very frustrated sculptor! However he hopes to return to work as soon as he possibly can.

  1. Not a bad idea for the sculptor to have a well-earned rest ……..We winced with every one of these inital strikes in that last video ! Have a peaceful and re-energising Christmas.

    1. A Happy Christmas to you too. Yes, he did need a rest – but not for as long as this! He goes to see the sculpture every day covered in snow and ice and comes back despondent. However he is confident that maybe next week he will have hammer and chisel in his hand again.

    1. Yes, this sculptor just can’t wait for the snow to go. However he is busy in his studio making other works of art so all is not lost. Our doors are always open.

    1. Fred, give me a break – I am now in my 65th year and still using only hand tools! Great to hear from you. Wishing you all the best for 2011. Ronnie
