On Monday evening 4th June Ronald Rae gave a passionate talk to 36 very enthusiastic Cubs from the 82nd Craigalmond (Cramond) Scout Group. They enjoyed bonding with the Baby Elephant sculpture and climbing on to the Cramond Fish but the highlight was having a lesson on how to carve granite. I believe there are now several budding sculptors in Cramond!
That looked fun…..if quite demanding. I’m sure the cubs will remember it for a very long time!
Love from
Malcolm & Lesley
Thank you Malcolm and Lesley. Yes! It was fun for us too sharing in the Cubs’ excitement and enthusiasm.
What a lucky squad of Cubs! Like them and probably most people we all find it difficult to appreciate the age of the rocks with a time scale of hundreds of millions of years. It must have been wonderful for them to have Ronnie showing them how to use the chisel – perhaps there may be a budding sculptor among them. Many thanks for sending another lovely video. Love from the McKirdy family
Thank you McKirdy family. You are right about budding sculptors – last week we received photos of some of the cubs whacking away at stones in their back garden! Ronnie had better watch out – he now has competition in Cramond!
